"Save the Steak!" is a game inspired by my puppy Eclipse. She managed to snatch a whole piece of steak right off the kitchen counter while I was outside snow-shoveling. I came back in and saw her mouth completely covered in the marinade sauce! Though there were only two pieces left for my friends Dean, Ben and I, I got a new idea for an iPhone game.

The game starts out with a steak in the middle of the screen and a timer. The objective of the game is to keep the steak in the middle of the table away from the hungry doggies that surround the table. The dogs, Eclipse, Java and Leela, are going to constantly paw at the table edges to slide the steak their way. When the steak gets too close to the table edges, one of the dogs will snatch the steak right off the table!

Using the built-in accelerometer, tilt the iPhone/iPod in the reverse direction to counter the movement of the steak. For example, if Java pawed the bottom end of the table, quickly tilt the top of the screen down to slide the steak back up before it slides to Java's mouth! The steeper the angle of the tilt, the faster the steak will slide.
